While we have the Weymouth Match Day thread up and running, we should keep an eye on the other games that could affect us.

  • Wrexham v Torquay
  • Woking v Notts County
  • Chesterfield no game v Dover

Wrexham go into this game with only one recognised striker, top scorer Kwame Thomas out for the rest of the season, as well as Ponticelli injured. Torquay have Danny Wright back and appear to be getting back to winning ways. Forecast - Torquay win.

Notts County, will be without top scorer Kyle Wooton, sent off on Friday against Wrexham. On the road they have only scored 12 goals and they go to Woking who have a reasonable home record. Forecast - draw

Chesterfield have no game as Dover are gone.

If the results go as forecast then with a Town win we jump to 7th. 1 point behind Chesterfield and 3 behind Notts County.

Of the others:

  • Boreham Wood v hartlepool
  • Solihull v Sutton
  • Stockport v Bromley

hartlepool are not as strong away from home, and BHW have drawn 7 at home, and 13 in total so far this season. Forecast - 0-0

Sutton should be too strong for Solihull on paper, but they have drawn their last 2 games, so maybe they are hitting a mini-slump, with only a small squad. Forecast - draw

Stockport at home have been inconsistent W 6 D 6 L 2. Bromley have won 6 on the road, so this has the makings of another draw as they cancel each other out. Forecast - draw.

So, unlike PW let's take a look at what is going on around us in the League this Sat.

Wrexham v Stockport

Important game for both sides plus the impact it can have on our position. Form wise this looks like a draw to me, with Wrexham having no attack and Stockport looking to have run out of ideas based on their performance against Bromley last Monday. To be fair, any result in this one suits Town.

  • Wrexham win, keeps Stockport within reach, and we have a game in hand on both sides plus Wrexham come to the Shay on Tuesday night.
  • Draw, then both sides drop 2 points and Wrexham fall further behind the playoff positions. Stockport  would be 2 points ahead of Town but we still have a game in hand and Stockport to come to the Shay.
  • Stockport win, Wrexham's hopes of the playoffs will start to disappear, especially if they then lose at the Shay. We still have a game in hand and to play the Hatters at home.

Hartlepool v Notts County

Hartlepool have a strong home record but tend to only win 1-0. Notts County are not big scorers either but have a solid defence. I suspect this will be a draw, probably 0-0 but no more than 1-1. Draw would suit us, but a County win would not be the end of the world and would leave Hartlepool only 11 ahead of us but we have 4 games in hand.

Kings Lynn v Chesterfield

Possible banana skin for Chesterfield if they are not careful. Kings Lynn might be next to bottom in the table but they can surprise teams at home. I still think Chesterfield will have too much firepower to see off the Linnets and will go for a 2-0 win for Chesterfield.

Torquay v Weymouth

Torquay are much stronger now they have Danny Wright back in the team. They seem to have come through their poor spell of form and should be too strong for a Weymouth team based on what we saw at the Shay on Monday. 3-1 to Torquay for me.

Sutton have no game, as they were scheduled to play Dover.

All of the assumptions above are based on Town gaining 3 points at Altrincham.

Anyway, what will be will be but as long as we can keep on winning then some of the teams above have to start taking points of each other.
