  1. Let's hope the club keep in close contact with Reuben, so we can help to maintain his mental health and put him onto a pathway to coping with his obvious issues over the last 18 months.

  2. Don't some teams have a 'club captain' and also a 'team captain' ?

  3. I don’t think Tear has done too badly filling in at wing back (pretty sure he’s filled in on both flanks) on the odd occasion he has got on the pitch. Wealdstone at home springs to mind when he came on early. Him and Benn would certainly have been out on loan if the lower leagues were playing. I’d sign him up for another year and loan him out and watch his progress. Like Earing, he may come on in his second season and after getting some regular game time.

  4. I think you would find the team captain would collect the trophy unless John Terry was in the crowd who would beat him to it.

  5. Danny will be aged 33 years and 6 months at the end of July. I think he did well for us overall, always gave 100%. I'd have been content to keep him. But he did pick up quite a few yellow cards, and I think 2 sendings off this last season. At present I think he is a slightly better player than Jack Senior, but very little in it. Senior is much younger, and should improve further, so I could understand Wild keeping him rather than Williams. Jack has more pace and is more mobile than Williams, and if he could improve his crossing, and learn to shoot when he gets the chance, he cou

  6. Stop all this nonsense about club captain, ambassador, squad player, back up player. A squad of 20 players does not have room for such things as this season has proved. 20 players is not enough for a 42 / 46 game season, not if you want top consistency in every game to challenge for promotion. Wild must ensure that everyone of his 20 playing squad can do all 46 games if required.

  7. Think he was doing it as part of his coaching badge

  8. Best of luck Danny. Solid if slightly unspectacular, but that goal at Weymouth was a fantastic strike. Josh Askew has recently left Chester to search of playing at a higher level. Very talented young full back, not sure if he’s got his sights set on the EFL but would be well worth an enquiry

  11. Lazarus was good at rising from the dead. Noble means someone of a high moral standard. With a name like his, he has every chance of success. (Reuben is an American grilled sandwich, but I'm not sure how this influences anything).

  12. No idea, the woke brigade (BBC) can shove a bagful of nitty gritty up their collective jacksies as far as I am concerned.

  13. Well I agreed with most of what he said. However he said he got the recruitment spot on and whilst I agree he brought in some very decent players. I wouldn't say he got it completely spot on.

  14. Danny Williams solid squad member of a mid table Conf club and he's been (reasonably) dependable but we need to look at players who can fit in to a play off winners/ champions standard team

  16. Not for me. Maher, Summerfield or Byrne. They never stop talking on the pitch. Johnson as quiet as a mouse

  17. When signed as a midfielder was pretty unimpressed with his performances but as a wingback he has been very steady & done well for us. Good luck to him in the future.

  20. So Nathan Clarke could be club captain next season and I’d guess Maher team captain if both stay obviously. We win promotion, Clarke has done **** all for the full season and has sat on the bench, Maher has played every game as team captain but Clarke will get to lift the trophy as he’s “club captain” No thanks 🤣

  24. I would like him still involved and club captain. That doesn’t mean he starts every week but he will certainly have a part to play.

  26. Tod is part of Calderdale (Halifax), although I believe they are in Lancashire. They have an Oldham postcode, a Rochdale telephone code. It wouldn't surprise you if anyone living there has an identity crisis

  27. Don't agree.. Imo if he hadn't been ravaged with injuries we would have got the 3+ points needed for the playoffs and we would have all been up for playoffs again next season with the same / similar squad. We surely can't be as unlucky next season with injuries. Agree with wild no major overhaul needed.

  28. Our set piece delivery is woeful, be it free kicks or corners, we have the players who could profit from a telling delivery & it is a relatively easy route to scoring. Look at our goals against column if evidence was needed.

  31. First point, we narrowly missed out on the play offs. Second point, massively chopping and changing in the off season does no good.

  32. Save for the first 10 and say the last 5 games we were on title winning form. For that reason I massively agree with keeping the majority of the squad if possible, replacing deadwood such as noble lazarus with genuine first team contenders. In addition think we need more up front, less reliance on the loan market, but sure Pete and Milly are already on this. Evolution not revolution!

  33. While Earing, King, Summerfield have won the most plaudits this season. I really hope we can get Green on a two year contract. He has been revelation after a quiet start To the season, and seeing him live for the first time on Saturday, confirmed to me how valuable he is.

  34. When Chesterfield can go out and sign a striker like Danny Rowe to close out the season (although he looked shocking Saturday), Stockport can sign Paddy Madden from league one and we sign somebody on loan from Curzon Ashton I think that’s crystal clear... The budget isn’t an excuse, it’s just a fact that financially we can’t compete. If we had Hyde fit all season, amongst others I genuinely think we’d be top 2/3. 3-5 strong additions and retain the squad and we will be competitive again.

  35. I now have the final figures for the fundraiser for the Deano flag. In total £933 was raised and the flag cost £411, leaving £522 that will be donated to the fundraising page to help Deanos family. A really great effort by all who donated and because of you there will be a lasting tribute at The Shay to Deano and also his family will benefit too. Well done everybody, and despite differing opinions, football has once again drawn people together. Enjoy your summer and thank you all very much 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏

  36. This release does not concern me one little bit. He, in my opinion, has flattered to deceive. He always looked as though he was quick enough to go past defenders but actually never did and so we never received the crosses from the bye line. His crosses always came from further back and those are much easier to defend. He rarely put a foot in for a tackle as well. In fact, he was a bit absent when it came to tackling/challenging. His bookings and dismissals have been for sneaky little fouls and never for the blood and thunder challenges. Jack Senior has so much more potential. He can cross
