  1. I'm so glad we got out of it early, so we could concentrate on the league.

  2. Well Villa just had a goal ruled out for his arm being offside. You can't score with your arm. Where is the common sense when making these decisions.

  3. If we cannot score 2 or more goals against one of the teams with the worst goal difference in the league then we might was well give up now. As Hyde was reported as being rested with a slight injury on Saturday he should be back in the frame come Weds night. It will be interesting to see how he and Bell combine but I think we may have something to cheer at last. Barnet have only scored 2 in one game this season, just like us, against Dagenham and Redbridge. other than that they have let in 19 goals, only scoring 8 in the process. We should expect to keep a clean sheet and put some away at

  4. For me the problem isn't the technology itself, it's the people using it and the direction they're given on how to use it. How often do you hear about complaints to the technology in other sports? Hardly ever. The main issue in cricket is the debate about 'umpires call' for LBW decisions, but whether or not you like it the rule is consistent in that it backs up the on field decision every time. Football needs to look at rugby's video tech. The ref sees something happen and then if is unsure asks for help from the video ref. There's a dialogue and they come to a decision together. Off the

  5. it is but how many times can you post wondering if the management team is up to it, I am really struggling to believe they are, i feel that this squad is better than last years squad so then it comes down to tactics and that is the manager and that is where we are failing.. cant say any more than that

  6. Well, another weekend of absolutely ridiculous decisions from the powers that be. And watching MotD highlights there is starting to be a stronger Anti VAR feeling from within the game. It was noticeable from comments made by managers, players & pundits that they have had enough of this game spoiling intrusive waste of time. I like to think that they've been following my GIO (Get It Out Campaign) and have finally seen the light. It really has become significant over the last few days really with the death of Maradonna, the little fella who broke every Englishman's heart back in 1986 with hi

  7. I know the 'business' logic behind it, but as a (relatively) neutral fan, I'd much rather watch the lower ranked sides in the FA Cup as they are the life of the competition in my mind. Man Utd, City, Arsenal, Liverpool, Spurs, Chelsea - they're all on TV pretty much every week in the Prem, so from a fan point of view I'm not bothered about seeing them play in the cup on TV too, especially when they get a draw that is your run of the mill PL fixture anyway.

  8. You often get teams from lower leagues getting through and then they end up with Gillingham away or something. Rarely do you get that kind of tie. Guaranteed TV coverage I would have thought aswell. Chorley have a decent game aswell

  10. Another "sighting", this time at Hopwood Lane near Asda. Mystery continues as third alleged sighting of 'big cat' in Halifax | Halifax Courier The time on the video is not 12:04 but the seconds don't change despite it being a video and not a still. Whoever is doing this is an amateur, and the Courier really shouldn't be pushing this clearly fake video as news.

  12. I've avoided commenting on any of this, as I haven't really seen us play much this season. It is interesting to hear lots of people talking about systems and 433 and 3511 etc. Will Wild change things? Only he knows. We get people debating about playing with wingers, and how many defensive midfielders etc we have. I have watched Town since the late 60s, and have been through many a dire season. I have to agree though, that our lack of goals is worrying, and we need to start sticking the ball away. My dad always used to say he didn't care if we conceded six as long was we scored seven at the ot

  14. The umpires call is supposed to be because the tracking is not 100% accurate after the ball hits the pads, it's a prediction so it's designed to work with that margin of error. And for that to be the only contentious point in the system I think that's a pretty good system tbh.

  16. I think he needs at least 8 points from next 4 games or he will go..I'm still backing him hope to see a massive improvement from saterday...last two games have left me mad but I'm going to remain positive.. think if we can win wed and sat the confidence will come back and hopefully see us go on a winning run..

  17. I am beginning to wonder if they are persisting with VAR and its dodgy calls so as to demonstrate to managers that the previous way was better. That way, when the rules are ultimately amended to remove VAR from most incidents, managers can't whine about the referee making the wrong decision. Well they can whine, but in the knowledge that the alternative didn't prove any less controversial. For what it's worth, I think VAR should be restricted to whether or not the ball went out of play. Was it a goal, a corner, a throw-in, etc., and I suspect there are better ways of determining that than

  18. Yes, amongst many, many other examples, Salah's offending offside big toenail was certainly clear and obvious on Saturday. I can't think why the referee or assistant (linesman &^$"!) failed to spot it. I cringe when those bloody perpendicular lines start to criss-cross over the screen as the operative tries to find the sweet spot at which the last molecule of the ball leaves contact with the last molecule of the passer's boot, thus providing conclusive, forensic proof that the attacker was a millimetre offside. I wouldn't retain it for anything as it is as flawed as the flaws it was promot

  21. The games, IMO, are very difficult to sum up!!! Yes, we are not good, but then again are we really that bad?? I dont see any 4 - 0's or 3 - 0's etc, and we have certainly created a few chances where on another day the result would/could have been completely different. People who contribute to these threads no what I'm like, I rant and rave under normal circumstance, but I'm not jumping up and down because I really do think this can be turned round. Against Torquay, we worked our way back into the game then very naively threw it away searching for a winning goal. There are times you just have

  22. You make a very good point, ShayJay, although to nit pick, I'm not sure Nepomuceno is really a striker, thought he was meant to be more of a winger? However, it is still no goals from 4 strikers if you add Bell, who did have a run out yesterday as sub. If you analyse this even further, of the six goals we HAVE scored overall, one was a penalty, Earing's goal at Stockport was a real freak affair ( To me it almost looked more like a cross from a tight angle deflected in by a Stockport player? ) and Allen's equaliser against Notts County was an absolute desperate last gasp affair in the

  25. Yep, we got in the play offs because Nathan Clarke took charge of a couple of training sessions! Almost as good as all Aspins good work was down to Trevor Storton, even though Aspin signed several gems many years after Storton was dead!
