ITMAN 1,483
Short trip over the tops to Altrincham on Saturday. Will Town be able to maintain the momentum? Extra choice added this week for those sitting on the fence. Stats to follow. Edited Thursday at 08:02 AM by ITMAN

Monk 1,959
Is Summerfield back this weekend , Wild said he should be available for this game . He won't start him after such a long lay off but he should be on the bench , 12 games left he can't wrap him in cotton wool for long . Another must win game .

I would expect to see him have a run out for the last 20-30 minutes on Saturday, and if no problems in the deep end against Wrexham.
Nick 2,222
would be easy to say "not sure" ... but i have gone for a win, reasoning is simple, we will be totally up for it, while altringham seem to have accepted that the playoffs is really now out of reach. olitheshayman 2,214
It's one where we should raise our game. Alty are a good side and were perhaps a little unlucky not to get anything from the match at the Shay. Josh Hancock is by all means a baller. They also have this striker on loan from Stockport who can score a goal or two. Two main lessons we've learned from the last couple of games- in attack, give Hyde a simple pass for a simple goal. In defence, if you're unsure of danger but you can get a header or foot to it, get it out. Nothing wrong with a hoof in case of emergency.
AJS 998
This match screams a draw to me. Not sure why. Both teams need a win and it would be typical for a draw to do neither side a favour

Popular Post ITMAN 1,483
Altrincham Away Facts and Figures (NL only) Played 33 Won 11 Drawn 8 Lost 14 Goals For 37 Goals Against 41 (-4) League Position 13th on 41 pts Highest Score 3-0 v Kings Lynn (Home) Worst Defeat 1-3 v Notts County & Bromley (Away) Top Scorers: Hancock (11) Colclough (5) Peers (4) Last 5 results: Woking (A) 1-1 Dagenham (H) 0-1 Kings Lynn (H) 3-0 Maidenhead (A) 1-0 Kings Lynn (A) 0-2 Town travel to Moss Lane on Saturday as the form team in the NL, having taken 13 points from a possible 18 over the last 6 games. Altrincham over the same period have managed 7 points. The main difference is that Town have taken on and beaten or drawn with teams from the top half of the table for the majority of their games, whereas Altrincham have faced opponents from the bottom half of the table. They sit midtable and look to have missed their chance to make the play off spots, but they do have 7 of their remaining 9 games at home, so at this stage cannot be ruled out yet. Top scorer for Altrincham, Josh Hancock, has managed to rack up 11 goals so far, including one in the game at the Shay in December. Second highest scorer, Ryan Colclough, is on 5 goals, with Tom Peers on 4. It will be interesting to see if Nyall Bell, on loan from Stockport, starts against one of his former clubs, but since signing has only made appearances from the bench with no starts and no goals. Of the other forwards in the squad none appear to be providing the answer to their lack of fire power. Altrincham played on Easter Monday and lost away at Kings Lynn, and according to their fans forum have a number of key players out injured or waiting possibly to return. Of these, Matty Kosylo, will probably want to get back onto the team sheet to take on his old employers. Matty has not played for the last 7 games, and has put in no time from the bench, so it is probably still too early for him to line up against the Shaymen. Town on the other hand managed to pick up 3 points with what looked to be close win, according to the final score, however it this does not accurately show the chances Town had and a 5-2 win would not have been undeserved. Michah Obiero, gave plenty of reasons for optimism and maybe a reward of more playing time, with Jake Hyde fully fit and looking hungry to add to his goal tally of 7 for the season. Throw in the options of Allen and Chadwick and PW has plenty of options to mix things up and to get at teams. Everyone of course, is hoping to see Summerfield on the bench, and for him to be ready to face Wrexham and Chesterfield over the next few games. Earing is still putting in good performances but we will need him to step it up a notch from the Weymouth game against a team like Altrincham who will not lie down and roll over if they go behind, as we found out at the Shay. The results on Monday saw Town move back into the play off positions and we now need to consolidate this with a steady performance against Altrincham, with hopefully more of the chances being created converted into goals and a clean sheet. The last 2 games have seen soft goals being conceded, which cost 2 points against Sutton, and which fortunately came in injury time for Weymouth, too late to influence the final result. I am hoping we revert to the back 3 of Bryne/Maher/Bradbury, as we need to play an attacking formation against Altrincham, moving the ball quickly from the back to the front, with the intention to get a goal in front early on and try to bring them out which will suit our counter attacking game. We now have pace up front to trouble most defences in the NL. Midfield should be a return to normal, as Woods should be rested, and Green and Earing could do with his experience to allow them to focus on their natural games, Earing running at defenders and Green covering every blade of grass in search of something to tackle. Is it me or does Keiron Green qualify as the most inelegant player we have? He runs around for 90 minutes looking knackered from the start of the game to the finish, yet he gets from box to box and keeps involved throughout the game. We are now the masters of our own destiny, a win at Moss Lane would be a super 3 points, which earlier in the season would not have been on the cards. If Town can maintain the determination shown since the start of December then we have a serious claim on a top 5, never mind a top 7 finish. As usual the heart says Town win, head says Town win (2-1, but we have to be careful with this game as Altrincham have taken some good scalps so far. They have beaten Torquay, Wrexham and Chesterfield, with draws against Hartlepool, Sutton and Stockport (twice). We have to play to our strengths and dictate the style and flow of the game. If Town can do this then it should be a tight game, might be a hard watch, as it could go either way. But, having said that, Town are on a roll and I fully expect them to continue their winning ways. Up the Town. Edited Thursday at 02:58 PM by ITMAN 4

townmad 956
We could have 4 players who have featured for us playing for Alty on Saturday, Matty Kosylo, Nial Bell, James Hardy and Sean Williams. I didn't realise Williams was still at Alty I thought he had moved on a while ago.
