Bigger suprise is he was still on the pitch after 60 minutes

Result just reinforces what a poor performance we put in at Barnet, fortunately followed up with by a stellar one.

The games in hand are running out now for the other clubs. There is only Solihull who have enough to go above us now. We need to go a mini-run at least 2-3 games in order to keep in touch with the top 7 now. We now have at least 2 games in hand on 3 clubs just above us, apart from the Barnet disaster and the dropped point against Maidenhead we have not dropped off to far. Those 4 points we gave away with the games in hand could have seen us in a strong position to ove into the top 7.

No point crying over split milk we just need to do more of what we did at Torquay and we should start to move up. Good to see hartlepool keep consistent with their inability to win away from home.

Worst performance or the season by a country mile. Things like that can be a turning point to a season though sometimes. Let’s hope it is.

Yes, the same question is being asked up and down the league, "is that the same side that beat Torquay that lost at Barnet 4 days before!"

Putting that run together is the problem though. In the last 2 games alone the difference between when we are on and when we are under par is massive. Over the course of the season the table shows that as well.

Can we put 3 or 4 games together without throwing in another rank off day.

I am sure we can. Other teams are also throwing a rank off day in. Hyde looks sharp and I suspect he will start at home to Hartlepool next Tuesday and fingers crossed we may have 2 new faces by then too?

Take tonight's results, of the 11 clubs above us at the start of the night, apart from Torquay and Sutton, only Aldershot won. All the others either drew and took points away from each other, or lost as was the case for 3 of them.

The only real winner tonight was Chesterfield who ground out another 1-0 victory to go above us on goal difference.

So if we can string a few results together, while the rest of the top half keep beating up on each other we can make steady progress.

I wonder what criteria the Chesterfield manager applies in his team selection, colour of hair or eyes, knobbly knees, tanned  hansom athletic look, must be difficult with 50 to choose from.
