Southport.... Should we move game

Recommended Posts

To Sunday

In a side note, Os on Facebook, has stated that Sunday looks a nice sunny day. Now he could be on a something different. But it made me think, that maybe the club needs to be proactive with Southport and maybe discuss moving this Saturdays game to the Sunday...

Seems like the common sense thing to do??

Thinking outside the box - is there a National League team who has a free weekend scheduled where we could potentially arrange a Sunday game if Saturday's fails? Make it clear we will only play on the Sunday if we have no game on the Saturday etc...

Use them as an example, but say Hartlepool have no game on Saturday, or by Saturday both ours and their games get called off, could we try arrange a Sunday game?

Or to Southport ? At least they have sand on tap . Not sure us mere mortals have any say on day and kick off time and I'm not fussed on either . How's their Covid outbreak doing ?

Their isolation period finished at midnight yesterday. They should be OK for Saturday. Looking at the last round there were a few games not played on the Saturday but moved to the following Tues.

Probably, we will keep the 19th Jan free in case we need to postpone the game on the 16th for any reason. This would make playing Hartlepool this month impossible. The earliest date we do not have a midweek game is the 16th Feb.

That´s also the earliest date Hartlepool have 16th Feb.

Let’s be honest. The way it is currently chucking it down with rain, it’s almost inevitable that the game is going to be off Saturday. Is it worth seeing if this can be played at Southport? We really can’t afford many more weather related postponements

Here in Leeds we already have about 6 inch of snow. Even worse will be when it melts, the Shay pitch, will no doubt be waterlogged. Looks like a move to Tuesday next week is on the cards.

Not a chance we will be on Saturday. Snow awful here in Holywell Green. Heard of several car accidents in the near vicinity

Good news is the masses will be able to go sledging adding to the injured attending A&E, socially distancing & walking to location of course...........................unfortunately ignoring the stay at home edict😐

Tried setting off to work this morning gridlock in Ripponden managed to get to Copley on route to Brighouse. Glad I decided to phone in at that point. Show's easing up now but as you say we won't be playing on Saturday.
