shaymen down under 763
To Sunday In a side note, Os on Facebook, has stated that Sunday looks a nice sunny day. Now he could be on a something different. But it made me think, that maybe the club needs to be proactive with Southport and maybe discuss moving this Saturdays game to the Sunday... Seems like the common sense thing to do??
Flea 6,615
Maybe keep it on the Saturday but have a contingency plan of a 24 hour postponement and play it on the Sunday if it fails.
Wilder Bollox 5,441
Or to Southport ? At least they have sand on tap . Not sure us mere mortals have any say on day and kick off time and I'm not fussed on either . How's their Covid outbreak doing ?
Icke's Lizard 3,528
I'd imagine Southport have a mainly part-time squad with lads due at work Sunday, or will be cream crackered for work on the monday. Stick to Saturday and if it can't go ahead so be it. We haven't even played last year's final.
Flea 6,615
Thinking outside the box - is there a National League team who has a free weekend scheduled where we could potentially arrange a Sunday game if Saturday's fails? Make it clear we will only play on the Sunday if we have no game on the Saturday etc... Use them as an example, but say Hartlepool have no game on Saturday, or by Saturday both ours and their games get called off, could we try arrange a Sunday game? They should be OK for Saturday. Looking at the last round there were a few games not played on the Saturday but moved to the following Tues.

ITMAN 1,205
Probably, we will keep the 19th Jan free in case we need to postpone the game on the 16th for any reason. This would make playing Hartlepool this month impossible. The earliest date we do not have a midweek game is the 16th Feb.

AJS 931
Let’s be honest. The way it is currently chucking it down with rain, it’s almost inevitable that the game is going to be off Saturday. Is it worth seeing if this can be played at Southport? We really can’t afford many more weather related postponements

ITMAN 1,205
Here in Leeds we already have about 6 inch of snow. Even worse will be when it melts, the Shay pitch, will no doubt be waterlogged. Looks like a move to Tuesday next week is on the cards.
Flea 6,615
Not a chance of us playing on Saturday now. Can we arrange to play Hartlepool again for then? 1
