One of the first acts PW did as manager was to extend Brown's contract.

This would have been along the lines of 'paId x amount per week, with the expectation that the player "works" x days, or a minimum amount of hours in the week.

If those hours then increase, or an extra day is added on, the player is doing more than what he agreed to on the contract.

I don't know the ins and outs of Brown's contract, however 12 months ago it was PW that put it on the table for him. If there is now a problem with it, is that the players problem/fault or the person that gave him that contract?

A lot of people in this world do a hell of a lot more hours than are stipulated in their contract, for no extra pay. As I said previously I wouldn’t blame him for asking (if indeed he did) but it’s not an open and shut case.

Come in for 10 hours a week before, now you want me to come in for 14

I wish l could work for 14 hours per week.....there are a lot of people out there working 50/60 hours a week for the same pay for 40 contracted hours because of the nature of their job. Im sad to see Matty leave but as people have pointed out the club moves forward. I was gutted when Les Massie our top striker at the time left years ago but we came within a whisker of being promoted to the old Division 2 (Championship league) without him. Good luck Matty!

York have three good players from us or three with potential for being expensive customers for the physios table, time will tell. A 25 man squad is considerable.

Maybe if they have a lot of injury prone players then they will need a big squad. Let's hope that they don't bring in a salary cap or limit the squads to 20 then!
