Sad to hear the news that former Manchester City and Liverpool striker Michael Robinson has passed away. He was part of the City side beaten by Halifax Town in January 1980. A former Preston team mate of our keeper that day, John Kilner.

He reinvented himself in Spain, where he was a household name in football punditry and commentary, including doing much to rescue the ailing Cádiz FC some years back, and fully-deserving of the claim to fluency in Spanish (unlike the often, but wrongly-lauded Gary Lineker) and seeming more at home in his adopted country and culture than that of his origin, not unlike Tony Woodcock in Germany.

Very sad indeed, only 61yrs old. Wasn't very complimentary about Town when we beat Man City in the cup as I remember, he was a kind of arrogant guy back then, but never the less R.I.P. Mick.
