All football below National Leagues to end

What's the reason for that?

York (among others) must be absolutely fuming. It can't be one rule for one and another rule for another! Time for them to give the lawyers a call asap.

Yes yes yes.

If this was us we'd be turning into  bloodthirsty savages over this.

Not right how they treat smaller clubs.

Can York afford to engage legal services which could cost them dearly if the gamble does not pay off, unless the have someone to do it pro bono.I don't think no win no fee is an option here.

I´m pretty sure when a club sign up for the football league there is a ruling they cannot sue them, they can however go to sports arbitration.

There will also probably be a clause or rule that states the ruling bodies decision is final with no recourse to appeal. Or if a majority of the members vote for it.

I dont see why they dont just scrap this season. Base promotion & relegation on positions according to where teams finished when the leagues were stopped. Barrow & Harrogate to get promoted from our league and use the same basis throughout all the other leagues. The top teams are top because they have been the best over the games they have played, they are their on merit. Teams get relegated because they haven't been good enough. No point dwelling on things, 3/4 of the season had been played and personally that's good enough for me. I think the bookies would accept this as a reasonable outcome and pay out accordingly.

Why? No decision made on the National League

I stand corrected on the Conf North being included.

For the teams below that league though, it's a very unfair decision.

At the moment the only thing that affects the NL is there will be no relegation from North & South.

When lawyers become involved the only winners are .................... lawyers

As things stand Avenue will have a big smile on their faces. With an allweather pitch planned among other things relegation would have been a big hinderance now they can look forward with hope. Occasionally go there, football is poor and would be even worse if relegated !

How will BPA manage to install their 3G pitch in the current crisis ? What will Harrogate do if they are promoted to FL ?

Harrogate will have to dig their 3G pitch up if they get promoted

Will be interesting to see if it can be done before the next season kicks off given the current situation. Will special dispensation be given?

The clubs were part of the decision I believe - they can’t afford wages indefinitely

According to the League rulebook the only dispensation given is for things like additional seating and other facilities. The requirement for a grass playing surface has to be in place for the start of the season. But, in these times who knows what changes will be made to the rules for special circumstances.

Hopefully none it's not like Harrogate are a flash in the pan team that just happened to have found themselves up there one year, they are a club that have had the football league on their radar for a few years now and with that they should have known the rules and have taken steps to address that. Not get to March of that season and then use something like this as an excuse

True, as the National League is the only feeder league into the EFL you would expect all teams in there, as one would assume they all aspire to getting into the EFL, would be putting their house in order so that should that triumphant moment come, they can sail off into the EFL without a hitch. Not to suddenly then have a loast minute panic to rip you whole pitch up and get a new one in place inside 4 months
