Chesterfield

We were found out with our early season successful tactics & needed to change them sooner, it would appear todays' formation took Chesterfield by surprise & were unable to cope, if & when they don't work we have to come up with a plan C.

It'll be interesting to see how it works against better teams.

The Leeds one is good and that's where I've been today. Really bad swollen eye. I couldn't see anything out of it earlier today. I've had some drops and they've helped slightly but I'm on them for a couple of weeks.

An absolutely crap Christmas but at least Town won today.

Redshaw was the key today. Ran at them with pace, skill and intention. Other than that, not much between two sides lacking in confidence and momentum However, Williams did well at left back and Jeff King showed up well. The South Stand singers were great and brought it on home.

Not much between two sides? Were you actually there?

Even though we didn't create that many chances, the score flattered Chesterfield.

We created 4/5 good chances aside from the goal. Their keeper made a fair few smart save, you could argue we should have scored.

It was much better today although it was against a poor side, makes the Stockport game interesting now as we should be desperate to make amends.

Delighted for Wild aswell, he's a likeable guy and one that we should give a fair chance to.

Not suggesting this forum pick the team or formation but it has been clear for weeks we had a serious tactical problem, just frustrating it took a tonking to change things. Hope this win takes pressure off PW & the team & we move on together.

Exactly. A narrow 1-0 home win against a side with one win in 11. Next up, a side with 21 goals to their name in last 6 games.

That game today was very one sided and dominant. Don’t let the 1-0 score line fool those that weren’t there. However a much bigger test on NYD with a great crowd.

Great game today. Was particularly impressed with Williams. Read the game extremely well and covered running back all game.

Redshaw showed his class, so impressive on the ball.

Cam King ran the show at times and worked his socks off.

Thought the team as a whole worked hard for each other. Took the game to Chesterfield and played football not hoof ball.

Fantastic to get the win, but need to build on it. Time to concentrate on our game forget about the opposition.

Looking forward to Stockport should be a good atmosphere.

The best team won today.

Young Jack ‘Seb from Coronation Street’ Redshaw was immense.

But let’s get off Tobi Sho Silva’s back. He’s not the reason we let in 9 in 2 games,  he’s a holding player and did well when he came on today.

Every time things start going wrong we have to have a scapegoat. Don’t forget Tobi played in most if not every game when we were top of the league earlier in the season.

Cooper deserves more ****, if only for his Sparks moustache.

Interesting to here the player comments on shaymen TV

good togetherness in the dressing room

and they know that they have been letting themselves and the fans down

some very straight talking from Stuanton

I really think that guy could turn into a really good player and a real town club player .. really good honest attitude

now let’s get a result a win against Stockport at home

My favourite early shout was 'get somebody out on the left, Wild !!!' some fans just aren't watching the same game

True but to be honest neither does Pete Wild at times.

MFT meltdown yesterday was a joy to behold. Had his kick against the advertising boards gone into the stands instead, it would have been a second yellow in the space of a few minutes.

Matty Brown struggled against him before the meltdown but afterwards he was ineffective.
