Double standards or what?

"not appropriate" to kick them out my arse. And we all know what the "mitigating factors" are £££. EFL showing as always they care less about the game than they do the cash and covering their own arses. Pathetic.

If the WRCC has the muscle to boot us out over an ineligible player after pumping Pontefract Collieries 12–3 or whatever it was, then the League Cup has the muscle to boot out Liverpool.

"Privately" though, I'd love this to happen in the league, if it meant deducting a three-point win from the tally of one of the big sides.

Maybe Liverpool played him so they could be kicked out of the competition. If so, they will be disappointed with the outcome.

Maybe the powers that be realised this and decided to rule how they did as 'Punishment'

I remember Ireland tried something similar when they couldn't afford to stage the Eurovision Song Contest again.

Kick them out of the cup and ban them from entering for 5 years. Fine them £10M. Sounds a lot but they can more than afford it. Put the money into grass roots football. Perhaps double or even more, the money they teams get in the qualifying rounds and the first two rounds.

We've already spoke about attendance money being a small sundry to most Premier League clubs now. So let's give a fairer share of cup money to clubs that would be over the moon if they won extra cash. Why not introduce where if a Premier League club draws a team from under the Championship, they don't receive any prize money, only a share of the receipts. All prize money could then be given to the lower league or non league club
