That first half performance is probably as well as I’ve ever seen a non league side play.

Get this stuck up on the mobile advertisement & send it around Calderdale & West Yorkshire, This kind of remark from a non Shayman says it all & will add a few on our next home & away game.:) Brill.

A Chesterfield Football History account on Twitter have just said that it's our first win there since 1975!

Are you confident that it was 1991? @Shaymus?

Don't know if Johnny answered you but that's the first time we've beat The Spirites AT Chesterfield since 1975. The year we were relagated from the 3rd Division I believe?

We beat them in 05/09/1984 in the League cup.2-1 at their place.

Also a special shout out to JBW whom their 18 (their best player) got that little joy out of, they had to sub him! JBW even up against fresher legs still fought like a lion!

Whole team played fantastic though!

I’m sorry but I can’t agree with that.

Hate to say it but JBW is our one weak link. Their first goal came down his side and the only time they created anything in the first half it was due to McGlashen beating him.

Myself and everyone around me was both surprised and massively relieved to see him go off.

He also beat him to create their first goal.

Agree with majority of what you said. Their winger was their only threat, very surprised he was took off as jbw had been warned after twice fouling him,  not sure why he slid in the first time with their player running towards corner flag. Dont mind jbw but feel he tries too much fancy stuff for a defender and will get caught out if carries on.

I think JBW is the weakest link, but its not because he isn't good enough, its because everyone else in the defence is next level.

Duckworth has been pretty much faultless this term. If he can keep himself injury free then he and us will have a good season.

Not many teams will get much dice out of a Brown/Clarke centre back blockage either.

Johnson is one of the most consistent keepers in the league and comands his box and area so well.

That means teams will focus on JBW as the weak link. He is however more than capable at this level.

Of course, he will make mistakes - as will every player at this level. If he was perfect he wouldn't be playing non league.

I think were 'getting away' with his poor defending atm and whilst that may sound harsh as he's certainly contributing in attacking areas ultimately his job is to defend.

Any worth while manager will set up to attack us down his side.

As left back you are usually facing the opponents best player . I always say that anybody can play right back, left back is far more specialist . I've yet to see anything to cause me too much alarm about JBW, Reckord for Solihull used to be the best left back in this league but looked bang average on Saturday . It's important that other players in the team are able to double up with the left back . We are allowing too many crosses into the box which is mainly due to us looking to break forward

Took em for £36. £4 on a win and £1 on 3-1 which I cashed in with 10 mins left ;)

I only bet a couple of times a year but when I noticed the odds of 11/4 I couldn’t resist! £15 and returned £56 which will cover my NEC motorbike bike show trip this year

Thanks Skybet

The way this team can set up I could see us winning lots on the road this season

And nobody on here was predicting it preseason..

It just goes to show that players who dint make an impact at one club with the right setting can make an impact at another

don’t be to quick to judge

Indeed

sometimes things just click and fit into place, the players compliment each other well

As others have said, first half was faultless. Some wonderful football and we were good value for our lead. Second half bar the goal was a bit disappointing.

The third goal hindered us as we just completely stopped playing or pressing. Think some of the players just automatically thought it was game over.

Sitting back was definitely a tactical decision as Wild was constantly encouraging us to press in the first half and in the second he was pretty quiet and just seemed to watch on.

Good win in the end, despite making hard work of it. Just hope by preserving energy second half it’s left us fresh for Saturday

Just checked and you sir are correct. We beat them in the League Cup 2-1 at  Saltergate in 1984.  I'll let them know!

…..I'm not surprised he got it right......to put it mildly!

I was a left back.

Don't get this stuck JBW is getting. The lad is pretty solid, yes occasionally the right winger may get the better of him, it happens, it happened to Macca and Josh Wilde also.

Still not 100% match fit but he will be great. Bit of a man mountain.

Sorry yes I agree with you guys. I was looking at it from the perspective of him having no pre-season (mind you the whole team didn't) and still being that little off the pace but doing a capable job? He's far from garbage and better than Sellers/Skarz last year.
