A really good win tonight. Chesterfield will be smarting after their start to the season. Missing Matty Brown & Nial Maher, that is no mean feat. Hope we slowly increase our fan base by a couple of hundred.

Tuned in from Keswick, celebrating a top of the league Tuesday after a few weeks’ break. Might have to come down on Saturday after that. How’s this happening?!

Watching the bet365 live stream 2nd half was torture. Just kept going from chesterfield attack to dangerous attack.

Still first half we sounded class and the 3rd goal turned out to be priceless.

So who's next? Ah Yeovil. Bring. It. On

Just the most amazing start to the season.

Pete Wild has these boys believing in them self's.

The dressing room sounds electric.

If you have a group of players that will back each other to the very end then you can achieve anything.

Thanks Pete and the team.

Keep believing.

That first half performance is probably as well as I’ve ever seen a non league side play.

Superb run and through ball from King for Allen’s goal, but some of the general passing in the opening half was sublime. Not just passing side to side with no purpose, but with intensity and pace, and it was a joy to watch.

Excellent support from you lot tonight too, both in terms of numbers and noise. Enjoyable evening.

We were scarily good in the first half, looked like we had killed it off with the 3rd but you can't expect teams to just roll over. They switched things around, we got tired and they came back into it. Some superb goal line defending from us in the first 45 too.

Yes the pressing and passing 1st half and early 2nd half was something I haven’t seen from a town team for a long time. But am thinking it’s takes a lot out of you the way we play and we are a bit behind from pre season. Take Clarke out of that team and the average age must be something like 21/22 years old.

Only 28 points to safety!

Chesterfield currently in the drop zone to the Conference North, while their neighbours Matlock Town are occupying the single automatic promotion place to the Conference North...

Superb and almost faultless first half from Town. Allen put us in the lead early on with a low drive across the box that went into the bottom corner, then after half an hour Clarke jumps up the highest from a corner to double the lead.

Between those Allen was through on goal at an angle and probably didn't realise how close the keeper was to him, forcing a smart block out, plus we had McAlinden smash the bar from an effort too. Chesterfield offered almost nothing in attack although almost scrambled one over the line on the stroke of HT, only for Nolan to twice clear the ball, with the second one basically off the line to make sure Town went in at the break 2-0 up.

Started the second half like we had the first and Cam King simply refused to give up on the ball, rode a few challenges from a defender and got a second shot away, after his first was blocked, that flew in between the keepers legs for 3-0.

We then got sucker punched with Chesterfield scoring a few mins later, which then seemed to give them the motivation and momentum for the half. With that said, Town stood firm, albeit a tad deeper than of late, and pretty much handled everything Chesterfield could throw at us. Several players were simply running on empty, however it was due to the shift they were putting in. TSS for example, gave 100%, can not knock him, however in the last 20 mins he looked worn out. Chesterfield pushed and pushed and our outlet up to TSS and McAlinden was often returned straight back to us. Sam Johnson's come for every ball, put his body on the line and held firm however. On the break we had a couple of chances to grab a 4th, however it did feel it was a case of bleeding the clock a bit for us in the second half. Absolutely no issue with us doing this, having got ourselves in a commanding lead and considering the high tempo of our play to date.

A second Chesterfield goal with 30 seconds to go ramped up the tension, however we rode it out well. A deserved win.

Can someone remind everyone we are **** and that we are just lucky. Nothing to see here.

Chesterfield not won yet, 2 ex town strikers up front, you just know what will happen..............................

Oh yes! I think any player ever leaving us must have a sell on clause that they can, at will, score against us!

A great win tonight and shout out to the fans who were class. Everyone joined in and another 3 points.

Made hard work of it again and they always seemed like scoring in that 2nd half but a win is a win and another 3 points.

Was great when everyone joined in with “Stand up if you love the Town”

Credit to everyone tonight.

Another damn fine result.

I think a 2500 crowd is on the cards on Saturday.

Can we dream of a 3000 crowd or is that too greedy.

We can if you attend more regularly :D

Brilliant performance for 47 minutes, whichever of their fans said we’d be too fast for their defence was spot on - we ran them ragged on the break.

Difference in the second half was we tired a lot - a run of tough games in a short period and a small squad has definitely taken its toll. The other big difference was Chesterfield had options on the bench to change their formation and go for it, we didn’t really have that luxury. Once Silva went off we really struggled to make the ball stick in their half.

We hung on a bit and defended for our lives though. The reward is another 3 points and sitting top of the table after 9 matches. Chances are it won’t last, but let’s enjoy the moment while it does. You never know, even if things tail off a fair bit, with points in the bag early doors that top 7 could be realistic.
