New Manager or New Forward?

Recommended Posts

Just want to put out there that we need a Winger and a Striker urgently to get us out of  this mess. One win against aldershot has calmed the forum down for a bit but lose to Macc and draw against Chester and then surely his time will be up.

But on the other hand get our injured players back and if he realises for a chnage, that we need a striker and a winger then we might not go down.

not fussed bout Macc game as leagie is priority for me but i agree Chester is a must win game and will see us go 10 or 11 points clear of the drop zone.

league has to be the priority, however, a cup game with our xmas, new year opponents, who are top of the league will be a good test for our lads!

The forum was in desperate need of an avenue to discuss whether or not the manager should keep his job.

We have had plenty of manager/player threads but all have descended into name calling or party political broadcasts, be interesting to see how long this one remains on topic. Having said that the subject has become quite tedious to say the least.

It you want success it will have to be all inclusive, possibly the whole of Calderdale, for maximum effect it may need to be extended to the whole of West Yorkshire and Humberside . Cigs and wacky baccy might also need including in the ban if it gets extended to the Liverpool and Blackpool area

No mention of whiskey so I'm ok, ban the rest !!

Couldn't give a rat's behind about the Trophy game.

League has to 100%  focus.

Given two of the next three league games are against the same opposition then it adds a lot of significance to the game.

Only a fool would approach the game any differently to a league game.

We made that mistake in the relegation season. I'd still trade Wembley for staying up.

When we’ve thrashed Chester and beaten Macc three times, things will look good by new year. You’ll all realise that we need neither a new manager or a new striker! And what’s that about a winger? We have MacDonald, Kosylo (until told otherwise) and Charles, who would appear to back in the squad. It would be unusual to play more than two of them at a time.

As a matter of comparison, Torquay's manager Gary Owers said this today:

"Torquay United boss Gary Owers says his side needs up to 34 more points from their final 21 games to preserve their National League status.

The Gulls, who are five points from safety, have won just four games all season and are on 19 points after a last-gasp 1-1 draw with Gateshead.

They have eight points from the last five games, their best run this season.

"I know how many games we're going to have to win, it's towards nine or 10 games," Owers told BBC Radio Devon.

"That's aiming for 50 to 53 points, it might not be that amount at the end, but we don't know at the minute, so we have to set targets that would get us safe going on recent history."

There are 4 bottom sides who play each other, sometimes twice and are saying the same thing ( and probably including Town as a possible win).

Beat Chester or at least draw with them and we cause them a world of pain.

Said it before, go out to win every game, never short sell Joe Public. The relegation was a disaster but I enjoyed my trip to Wembley, it all turned out OK,just need to secure our tenure in this division now, if we progress in the FAT even better.

A win, as well as helping confidence, £6k to the winners is not to be sniffed at when the gate is unlikely to add much to our coffers.
