Shaymen1984 578
Well it's adisgrace if he doesn't want to distance himself from idolising the commander of a terrorist organisation that conducted an indiscriminate bombing campaign against UK citizens. Killing thousands not for the vote, but to have control over the majority. McGuiness would have had no qualms about putting a bomb in the Skircoat. I will have paid £thousands over the years for the costs of the Ni hell hole, I will not volunteer further to pay the wages of McGuiness fanboy He has, perhaps inadvertently, got himself into a position that is very difficult to explain his way out of without offending one side or another of a very sensitive area - regardless of what may be right or wrong. Loyal 34
Adams and McGuiness new exactly what they were doing reference the peace agreement, once the Americans stated that they would sort out any terrorist organisation they new that funding would dry up from the states , not fully mind, but would reduce.they new that as political speakers Downing Street would listen and so it began. Both these total peices of **** have made a good living out of it all being terrorists haven't they, and yet, Kellys mother wants a picture of him and he calls him a legend. You can say your not a supporter but deep down I I bet he still has his loyalty to the republicans. its still there the hatred to the British and the forces you have only to look at the banners and poppy burning at Celtic. Sorry not for me this appointment, disappointed with the BOD as I am sure we could of appointed someone else. GSTQ

themanwhowasntthere 1,520
...deep down I I bet he still has his loyalty to the republicans. That's solid and objective enough for me. Turf Moor here I come. I can't wait for someone involved at the club to make some ambiguous remark about immigration, foreigners, southerners or teachers or something so I can use it as an excuse to regale all of you whom I have never met with my life story. Come on Shaymen.

When has Halifax Town ever been a big club? I will be surprised if the players are able to do extra training if they have other jobs and a family life. I seem to think Aspin tried something similar but wasn't able to bring all the players together at additional sessions. From what I have seen we are certainly not in a false position. He must have been watching different home games to me never mind the away performances. Good luck with improving the performances of the present players who apart from one performance against Gateshead have been nowhere near good enough. It won't be long before he is looking to bring new players in. Sorry to go off topic from the IRA!

Val_Owen 31
Who cares? If he gets us winning and playing good football that's all that matters. Some people need to get a grip
crowtherjcbravo 717
We complained aspin had no plan b. Now we have a manager who wants to go as far as plan c and some are still not happy. Guess we just need a plan a and plan b manager?
Hands Off The Shay 485
I hope he does turn us into a winning team but the evidence so far this season suggests it will be far from easy. I have nothing against optimism but there has to be a touch of realism and not just the usual statement saying what people want to hear rather than reality.
Shaymen on the hill 29
Did you see the election result ? Do you know SNP policy and ideology ? They voted SNP in because they are fed up all the cuts the austerity measures the disgraceful treatment of the public sector and NHS. They didn't vote Labour because they weren't an alternative either, they were pretty much Red Tories and have been since Blair. Labour under Corbyn is fantastic, full fat Socialism, which is what the Scots want. The SNP was the nearest thing to that at that moment. I do not think Corbyn is that extreme, he is only suggesting policies that many other countries have. Many European countries have an nationalised train system, even Singapore which is one of the most successful economies in the world has an nationalised train company. Germany has student grants instead of loans. Anyhow I thought this site was supposed to be about football not politics.
G-H 892
I've liked reading that interview and watching the one on Shaymen Player. He's coming in with positivity and trying to create a buzz from the off, maybe unrealistic to think we can go for the playoffs and go for promotion after promotion but maybe Aspo had become too realistic in saying there were no easy games and top half is good etc, I like the ambition being show by Kelly. It shows maybe Aspo had taken us as far as he could, he has taken us a very long way though but Kelly is new to the club and certainly thinks he can take us further. He says he's big on man management aswell which is good to hear, different managers have different strengths, I said we needed to replace Aspo with someone who can bring the best out of players even if they are average, I think where Aspo was good in the transfer market Kelly will make up by being better at working with the players. I'm buying into his positivity already and it's time for us to do our part in creating a buzz around the club starting tomorrow by getting behind the team and new management. C'mon Shaymen!
