Steve Lanzarote 4,538
Indeed. But I bet it's something that happens many times a week in every town in the land. But he was caught through his bravado & conceit ..... followed by his internet behavior on release posting her photo etc
Bubba 1,851
He wasnt caught. There wasnt any evidence that he raped her except the opinion of the jury that the girl was that pissed that she couldnt have lawfully given consent. Rightly or wrongly, male or female, as Bazza says, it unfortunately happens all the time, every weekend up and down the land. She may well have been conscious during the sex and encouraging him on but because she was deemed to have been so intoxicated it has been classed as rape.

Young people in Britain have gone out every weekend for decades and got blitzed out of their minds and had sex. In this case video evidence shows she was not blitzed out of her mind. p.s. Bubba, for someone who did not want to discuss this subject you have done very well.

greygoose 1,688
He'd just retire before signing for a non league club anyway, it would be a pointless move for him as things stand even a club our size would take a hell of a bashing for signing him, unless he wins his appeal its game over for his footballing career imo. Shaytrev 3,169
It has been reported here in Malta that Hibernians (Malta) tried to sign him. British newspapers quoted Stephan Vaughn, remember him? as an official of Hibernians, which he is not. Vaughn is the former Chairman of Barrow and Chester, his underworld connections with drugs etc etc known by many. He is now in Malta.

Shayite432 128
But he's not spent it. Sentenced for 5 years in 2012, so he's out on license and could be recalled at any point. To be honest I'm furious at the prison service, probation service etc. for letting him out whilst showing no contrition or remorse. He's still on the sex offender register. He's not served his sentence at all, and won't be rehabilitated. If he wants to get his conviction overturned then fine, but **** off and do it somewhere else. And don't forget, as well as the conviction two Court of Appeal hearings (i.e. 4 more judges) have refused to give him permission to appeal, so I'm happy the judiciary think the verdict is a correct one. And, if he wins his case review, the case will go back to the court of appeal so he'll be back in court on trial again. Is that really something we'd want at the club? Its not a licence condition to show contrition for your crime. Like any other offender he can serve half his sentance then be on licence for the remainder of it. Conditions are written onto licences - attending with a probation officer on a weekly basis, because of what he was convicted for, he may have a condition not to pick up females and take them to hotel rooms or suchlike. He will be on the SOR for a specified number of years dependant upon offence
Jumbo1 246
Well done to Oldham. Maybe now a line can be drawn under the whole thing and everyone can move on.

Jmc 1,564
Think their average crowd not much more ! Don't Imagine that reflects their support ! Think across all forums of various clubs opinion is probably slightly in favour of signing him if it improves the team .
Shaytrev 3,169
3000 signature to prevent signing in first 30 mins bet they dont sign him They are not signatures, Hatchet the feminazi did not go around the houses asking people to sign, it is not a petition but internet spam. Most of the spammers will have never been to Oldham.

Shaymen on the hill 29
it seems the oldham manager has reservations about signing Ched Evans, see link below http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/news-and-comment/ched-evans-to-oldham-exclusive-league-one-latics-manager-lee-johnson-against-idea-of-signing-evans-9956932.html
moodyb1 29
Its not a licence condition to show contrition for your crime. perhaps we should apply the American principle that you're not eligible for parole unless you admit your crime (assuming what i understood from an episode of "murder one" was correct)
Wilder Bollox 5,431
perhaps we should apply the American principle that you're not eligible for parole unless you admit your crime (assuming what i understood from an episode of "murder one" was correct) But why should you have to admit that you committed a crime in cases where you didn't commit a crime ? I might be a bit thick, but why should you get a stiffer penalty for not admitting to committing a crime that you know you didn't commit ! ( this is not in reference to Evans , but a general reference to when the police cock up or stitch someone up )
