  1. The real fool is the Labour negotiator who agreed to Corbin been interviewed by Andrew Neil without getting an agreement that Boris had to do likewise. Typical Corbin bollocks. Why would we let them negotiate an exit deal with EU when nobody else on the Labour Front Bench wants out (apart from Corbin). You just can’t make it up. Politics is at an all time low in the U.K.. Where is David Milliband when we need him. Enjoying life in New York. Why would he want to fight with Unite.
  2. Brilliant. They all lie to get power, but Corbin’s judgement is terrible. Thick as a brick. Will be interesting to see if Boris gets interviewed by Andrew Neil. He’ll be exposed if he does but shamed if he doesn’t.
  3. A lot of people left in the 70’s and not all came back in the 80’s. Even Corbin isn’t saying he’ll confiscate assets, so people can simply sell their homes, move domicile and pay tax in their new home. They are not blackmailing anyone. They have multiple homes, some abroad already, so it’s easy for them to up sticks and go. Don’t see how they make other people’s lives a misery. Their taxes help pay for our services.
  4. You clearly have no understanding of supply and demand, opportunity cost, how to research or most importantly of all good manners. You might want to consider the plight of the Venezuelans who have suffered terribly on the back of Marxist policies.
  5. The obvious one is - 0.1 per cent of tax payers (30,000 people) pay 12 percent of total income tax take and approx 6 percent of total tax revenues. If tax rates go to Corbin levels many of these people will leave the country, so tax collected crashes and less is available to pay for services. It’s possible many other also leave making the situation even worse. 5 Percent of taxpayers generate 50 percent of the total take. Corporation Tax increases would lead to a similar moves out to countries like Ireland, Holland, Luxembourg. Its a delicate balance but Corbin has got it seriously wrong. Hopefully the opinion polls are right and Corbin gets stuffed and Unite have a rethink.
  6. Couldn’t agree more. Corbin is incapable of understanding the consequences of his policies which would hurt the people he says he’s going to help. Bring back David Milliband.
  7. Chesterfield and Wrexham in the bottom 4.
  8. How many Town fans there? Good atmosphere?
  9. Is Redshaw still injured? If so when do we expect him back.
  10. It’s all about value for money. The Danes pay much higher taxes but get great Services and are in general happy they get value for money. Other countries (and sadly we are one) seem to waste huge sums with terrible management. The NHS springs to mind. A friend of mine used to supply surgical gloves to them and asked me how many sizes I thought they would require. I guest 5 thinking they’d want S,M, L, XL and XXL. The answer was 37. All the different buyers had different definitions of S,M etc. What a joke. And Corbin wants a bigger State. Get value for money first, then fine.
  11. You can’t be serious. Insulting people and shouting loudly doesn’t make you right. Corporation Tax in Ireland can be as low as 12.5 percent. Rich UK residents are been offered deals to move to countries like Portugal and Greece. I think you should do your research. You might want to start be discovering how much of the total income tax revenue is generated by the top 1 percent of earners and then decide if we can afford to do without it if they decide to leave (as happened in the late 60’s and early 70’s).
  12. It’s nothing to do with Brexit. Companies and people will leave the UK in increasing numbers to avoid high taxes. The EU don’t set our tax rates. When Ireland was in trouble they drastically dropped Corporation Tax and surprise surprise lots of Companies moved to Ireland. Result was tax take increased and Ireland is now doing a lot better.
  13. But Corbin’s policies won’t generate greater tax revenues. The Companies are already moving offshore to avoid Nationalisation and individuals will leave as well. The people Labour say they’ll help will suffer. Corbin gets in and we’ll need exchange controls to stem the outflow.
  14. My sympathies. Ear infections are very painful. Let’s hope a Town win can cheer you up.
  15. It is expected this year the top 5 percent of the UK population will pay 50 percent of the income tax take. If rates go above a certain level (nobody knows where this is but it’s certainly below 60 percent) and there is plenty of evidence people are already leaving (the biggest queue in London is at the Portuguese Embassy) the tax taken will crash. Decreased revenues equals decreased services sooner rather than later. Who will lend us all the money Labour wants to spend? We owe a fortune already. Someone at some stage has to stop kicking the can down the road. I wish a David Milliband would return to take over.
  16. I just checked this out and I think you’re mistaken. Either way, someone has to pay eventually though (Probably our children) and the world is a small place now. If Corbin thinks he can tax the corporations and the rich without any consequences he’s mistaken. They’ll both simply move (it’s happened before) and the tax revenue will fall so services will suffer. It’s a fine balance.
  17. Lies damned lies and statistics. Are you taking into account inflation or the fact that The Tories have been in power more than Labour? For the record I’m not a natural Tory or Labour voter. Just sceptical that the State spends our money better than we do. All the Parties lie to get power. Not enough intelligent minds running the country.
  18. Anyone see Len McCluskey on TV last night? Frightening how much they are going to borrow. Interest rates may be at an all time low, so if your going to borrow now is the time to do it. But they’ll go up when we least expect it, leaving our children and their children with huge debt repayments. Why do Labour always loose control of the purse strings? Like some of their ideas but can’t vote for them as they have no grasp of arithmetic. If they win it’ll end in tears.
  19. And when higher rate of tax was reduced from 60 percent to 40 percent in the mid 80’s many tax exiles came home and tax revenues raised dramatically.
  20. Sadly it’s not The Labour Party. It’s the Marxist Party. Why they don’t get a decent leader is beyond me. Johnson is not to be trusted but Corbin has no credibility re the most important issue of all, the economy. His plans will result in reduced tax revenues and the people’s he’s trying to help will suffer. A ridiculous state of affairs and who wants 2 more referendums? Can’t stand Nicola Sturgeon, but at least you know where she stands and she answers the question.
  21. No where near as good as Terry Gennoe. Good shot stopper but poor taking crosses.
  22. This league is wide open. If we get lucky and don’t get too many injuries we’ll make the playoffs.
