  1. So.........we have signed a good young player in Senior. To be honest we seem to have a few promising young lads currently, there must be at least one future star amongst them.

  14. That was the first game I saw as a kid.. too young to remember too much .. But my dad gave me the match ball from that game., the ball then spent the rest of its life being kicked around Shibden park ..

  15. All four taught me at Heath although didnt get any where in woodwork with Keenan. In my final o-level year we were taught English by headteacher Bunch. The year only achieved 25% pass rate in English which was absurd. Some who scored passes in their mocks were downgraded to 'U's. Heath appealed two test papers which were immediately passed. However the School couldnt afford to appeal all the results so those two papers and the others had to either re-sit in the Autumn or do outside of school. Just accepted it and got on with it unlike events recently.

  16. Peter Hand was a top bloke ( I must have been there before you as female teachers were still a fantasy). In the upper sixth some of my ‘mates’ decided to ‘hide’ my motorbike by taking upstairs to the library I school house, apparently Mr Hand walked past as if it was an everyday occurrence. Deffo one of the good guys along with John Bunch, Denis Morton and Paul Keenan

  22. I've just been informed that Roy 'Lofty' Lorenson passed away last night. He was something of a legend in his day, serving Halifax Town well for nine seasons. An uncompromising centre-half, he featured in the early rounds of the epic FA Cup run of 1952-53, scoring in the first round replay victory at Ashton United, but missing out in the games against Cardiff, Stoke and Tottenham. Roy went on to make 236 first team appearances and scored eight goals for the club, totals which would have been greater had he not missed two years through his time doing his National Service. He moved to Tranmere R

  23. That´s not him Chris I have photos of all our players and the one I mean I haven´t but I have seen him before and cannot remember his name. He´s good on the ball and quite aggresive. Strangely not a position PW says he wants, PW wants a sub keeper ( won´t repeat my thoughts on that), CB (this imo should be a marque signing) and a RB the one he has on trial is good at going forward but seems reluctant to get back.
