  1. If you ever get a chance to see this lot, suggest you do, although Social Distancing on stage might be challenging!! They also have a brilliant version of The Furs "Love My Way"

  2. I kind of feel like the UK protestors/rioters have gone pretty much full Extinction rebellion on us here. I would assume that most people were supportive of the BLM movement, certainly at the very least indifferent to it to the degree that they would not insult or mock those protesting and could "get" why they were doing it. However, destroying and going after historical figures and the holy than thou attitude seems to be losing them more support than gaining it. Just like how most people would have said Extinction rebellion, if a bit nutty, had a legitimate concern/point on climate chan

  4. The only reason I have bought one is to support the club. I certainly wouldn't have paid that much for one elsewhere. A quick bit of research suggests I could have bought a similar one for £6.

  5. As I understand it, there's only one person at the club working, so it will take a long time to pack and label all these orders

  8. Steve, it was not a case of "comparing" Halifax with Liverpool but merely an example of what the price was for a comparable product from another source. As with all of these types of purchases you have look at the Total Cost of Ownership, in this case the mask and the cost for delivery, and as has been pointed out how long that delivery may take. If I was doing this as an options appraisal and the primary reason for the procurement of the said face masks was to help prevent the spread of Covid-19 in the next week or two then the Halifax offer would trump the Liverpool offer. 9. Going back to Erik’s OP I agree with him in that how do we know the policeman’s actions was racially aggravated??? How do we know that the policeman wouldn’t have carried out his disproportionate restraint technique on a white man??? and after reading the above how on Earth does it all result in protest when so many questions remain unanswered. So the BAME community now infect one another and will be the first to slate the death rates amongst the BAME community in the months ahead when in fact it could be self inflicted..... Nuts

  10. I'm not frightened of anyone. I view myself to be left leaning. However I find the socialist extreme left to be abhorrent in its tactics and to be just as bad as the extreme right. Two people with polar opposite political stances doesn't mean one is right and one is wrong. Extremists on BOTH sides need dealing with. The far right use race as a weapon. The far left are using the race card as a weapon. Neither side are acceptable or right.

  11. I think the issue really is the price of P&P when we cannot collect the item ourselves. On Ebay it would probably have been 99p. Ironically if the club had charged even more for the mask and charged the P&P at cost then there wouldn't be an issue! It's one of those things that just leaves you with a bad taste and could easily have been avoided. At the end of the day we are being forced to buy a mask from somewhere and you could equally argue that for this particular item the club could have shown some philanthropy towards the fans in exchange for the club name being prom

  12. Yes that as well! I'd guess the cost of the mask at £4.

  13. I would suggest that the price of the mask at £12 should cover the wage cost. P&P should just be the actual cost of post and packing but it is often used to rip people off. At one time, I don't know if it is still the case, sellers on Amazon used to make a decent amount of profit over what they charged for P&P.

  14. It does appear to me that the blm protest (certainly in the UK) has been hijacked by the usual socialist worker mob who spend their lives being offended. I really hope it calms down soon, Twitter is a swamp at the best of times but it's horrible at the moment, it won't be long before enochwasright is trending ! I accept that the majority of us on here are not able to really speak with any authority about how it feels to suffer racial discrimination, but it doesn't seem to me that defacing statues ( generally speaking) is the way to go about converting the general public to your caus

  20. Anyone know where to buy one in Halifax that is decent quality and not one of those blue medical masks? I might end up buying the FCHT one but also resent being ripped off particularly for something like this. I resent having to wear it but I occasionally use public transport so no choice.

  23. Another point to add is that a mask (PPE or RPE as it is known) containing a valve (as seen on several news clips of the black lives matter protests) should be illegal to wear in public. The valve protects the wearer but then allows him to breathe potentially virus containing droplets out. I hope this clears it up. It's my day job.

  25. In this strange time I have reflected how my 'special place' in life is the Shay. Distance means I don't get there as often as I would like, but when I do, it's the only place I want to be. I watch the game with football mates who I have known for decades. We talk shite for a couple of hours, bask in victory when it happens, curse the ref if it doesn't. There is nothing else like it and no memories that match it. I remember results and goals from every decade back to the seventies. I never get bored with it and one way or another, it always evokes some emotion. It's not about success, formatio

  30. But they aren't anti fascist are they? They aren't even anti racist. They are anti white on asian racism or anti white on black racism but you'll never find them protesting when thousands of white children are raped and in some cases murdered by racist British Pakinstani paedophile's.
