Guiseley lost 2-0 to Nuneaton last Saturday. Anything less than a comfortable win and it’s #WildOut

I believe they will be getting a few quid off Barnsley now. Jacob Brown, from Halifax,  just signed for Stoke. Rumour has it £3m rising to £5m.

Good luck to them. How come he did not go through the Town youth system?

Think he went for @30k to Barnsley from Guiseley and would hope they got a sell on clause. Used to play five a side with and against him when he was about 15 and had obvious talent, pleased for him.

He was with Sheff Wed until the age of 14 and got released. Went back to playing with his mates and joined Guiseley via college. They dropped lucky but their system offered the education and football mix that he was after.

All his mates joined Halifax, he wanted to make his own path

Some complain that the players did not put enough in to the clitheroe game .. preseason is about gaining fitness.. gelling as a team ... not picking up injuries

Yes, but unfit players will be more susceptible to pulling muscles etc. The actual theory behind building muscle involves stressing the muscle twitch fibres so that the body reacts by strengthening the parts that have been stressed, hence the reason for conditioning training, this is a gradual process of increasing the amount of work the body can do with the aim of pushing it to the limit each time, so the body adapts to cope with the increased demands being placed on it.

In that respect this is where the wonders of the human anatomy differ completely from those of a man made machine.

Does this extend to the brain if so quite a few players need to train harder:D

Alas, no. At the same time the improvement to muscle strength starts to reduce for males from around the age of 27. The sad thing, as I missed it at the time, the point of actual peak physical fitness for men is as early as 22, after that it is all downhill. Unless of course you put in lots of hard work training to compensate.
