Town Dream Team!

Recommended Posts

The Town official Twitter account has asked Supporters for their dream team [and they stressed!] (past or present). So for those not on the social media platform what are yours guys and girls. The only stipulation is:

Goalkeeper -

Defender -

Midfielder -

Striker -

Glad Adam Quinn has been named by someone. I always liked him but he required that more mobile partner next to him such as a Denny Ingram or Greg Young (when not injured. For those of a younger age, he was the last generation's Michael Duckworth).

Butler, Stoneman, Paterson and Horsfield for me.

On the bench - Heyes, Prindiville, Hulme, Kiwomya.

Only saw Vardy play for Town a few times so can't really pick him.

Gennoe

Burgin, Nichol, Evans, Doughty

Holden, Kennedy, Hendry,  Chadwick,

Atkins, Vardy.

Subs: Horsfield, Gregory, Johnston, Massie, Loska.

Dream team, but if I had to pick four then it would have to be Gennoe, Nichol, Holden, Atkins.

Mick Galloway.. what a player..he & Vardy were the best i’ve seen.. Vardy single handidly beating Chasetown with Dom Joly up front.. Mick Galloway going on to play for Celtic and Hearts.. Rick Holden was unplayable on his day and the Northern Intermediate winning team produced Lee Richardson, Wayne Allison.. Phil Whitehead..

Just think what Vardy could have done alongside Horsfield in the Conference winning season? If we'd kept that squad together with Vardy too we'd have walked division two (or whatever it was called them.)

Let's hope we can build something similar this season. Sign Dave and maybe JF can unearth a few more diamonds.

Picked my Four but always like Jimmy Lawson felt he was a class player in a poor side

and Galloway was class

so perhaps my second four would be

gennoe Rhodes Galloway massie

Freddie Hill (the best player I've seen play for us)

Vardy

It says much about Freddie Hill that he missed almost half a season with Town yet still picked up the Supporters' Player of the Year award. Seen here on the left (Town v Orient, 7 October 1969).
