Agent Fees

29 posts in this topic

There is an article in the Courier which says we spent over £9k on agents fees last season. Each player is listed and I think there were 7 in total.

Salford spent £78k.

Fylde not spent much considering but they have managed to keep hold of most of their quality players.

Interesting in the BD courier interview

he talked about the need to have players who could be sold on and listed 3

vardy and Gregory but also Tuton.. would suggest we got more than a token amount. ???

There are good agents and bad ones. In my humble opinion a good agent helps negotiate new deals or packages in contract renewals or transfers. Bad agents fill clients heads with rubbish and insert clauses into contracts stipulating they get a percentage of any future signing on fee or transfer fee so that they can line their own pockets.

Pogba’s agent is a bad one. I’d go so far as to say a cancer within football who has been allowed to grow and infest various clubs.

I see today Pogba is prepared to stay at MU for 500,000 per week.

His generosity knows no bounds. Probably already contracted until 2022 or something, but those contracts only work for the players as we know.

These are the guys that we have had to pay agents for.

11/06/18 Sanmi Odelusi, to Order Your Steps Sports Management

03/08/18 Jordan Preston, to LPM Football Agents

03/08/18 Dayle Southwell, to Full Contact

29/08/18 Josh MacDonald, to IPro SM Limited

03/08/18 Josh Staunton, to Supreme Sports Management

03/08/18 Jonathan Edwards, to Supreme Sports Management

04/01/19 Jacob Hanson, to Danny Webber

There are 4 agents there who have stolen Halifax Town money by falsely misrepresenting their players abilities. I`ll give you 1 guess which 4 they are!

Barnsley were mugged. Maybe we could offer them Odelusi, Preston and Edwards for a snip at say £125,000 for the three.

This figure also takes into account when a current player signs a new contract assisted by an agent

It’s not just his agent; he has a full team employed around him. As does Wilf Zaha and most premier league players. It’s not just an agent at the top level anymore

Correct. I put it on here when he left and was shouted down by the normal suspects who said the figure was 20/30k.

But why should it?

I can understand that when a transfer is taking place there are three interested parties and each may choose to use an agent. But in a contract renewal - especially at our level - surely the club is conducting its own business so the agent’s involvement would only be at the request of the player, in which case the player should foot the bill

Perhaps we should have signed the agents instead based upon their slick prowess!

I’m not saying it’s right, just that that is what happens

Whoever the Agent is working for should be the party to pay the Agent, which in most cases I would expect to be the player.  Perhaps the FA need to introduce such a rule.
