On to Morecambe

Good result today and performance by the sounds of it.

531 fans who sang their hearts out are a credit to the club and could be heard on the commentary.....excellent.

JF still rearranging a patched up squad but that performance should show that the players are still able to put a shift in and compete.

Would have been good for Edwards to score the winner by sadly not to be ......still, a quiet forum is good news for all ;)

Well done Town ....kick on against Dover and things are a wee bit steadier all of a sudden

Plenty of application and hard work today but we look totally toothless up front, as soon as we get in last third our confidence drains. Amazing away support.

Spoke to plod comming away from ground and the reason for us being held back was  trouble with Radcliffe fans outside the ground as there game at Kendal was postponed.

Good effort from Town, could have gone either way. Edwards 'goal' still debatable as to if it was off side. I do not know what Maher was thinking of when he did a brilliant run into the box and from a shooting position he decided to pass it to his left and an awful pass it was only for it to go dead.

£10 on the coach, £8 entrance, not a bad day.

Reduced prices for the replay a must seeing as it is 3 days after Dover. Not just down to £15, how about a tenner?

Definitely offside just seen video on Facebook page, however with a few defenders infront of him he should have realised he was offside. £10 entry for replay surely

I thought we played very well today from one to eleven. Everyone knew their job and worked at it for 90 minutes. Despite the fact that they came close on a few occasions, if, for example, Maher, who had a very good game, had placed his shot either side of the keeper, we wouldn't need to be debating whether Edwards was offside or not. We are starting to get players back now, and if we can beat Dover next week, fortunes might be about to change.

Getting a replay is a decent result, and the whole team should be proud of themselves. We've got to beat Dover and get ourselves a league win though to get some sort of momentum. Defensively we're sound. Sounds like Nathan Clarke gave an arm and a leg for the defensive effort today, as well as his nose and most of his forehead. Sam Johnson also seems to have earned us the replay more than any other player. Still, from what it sounds like we really grew into the second half and we should not be any more scared of Morecambe than any Conference side we face this season.

Brilliant away following. Let's hope for a good atmosphere in the second leg as well. For all our moaning off the field, it does us good to know the players are really giving it their all in matches like today.

Well done to the players today. There was no doubting the effort that they put in today.  With a little more confidence in attack we could have won it when the game opened up in the second half.

Effort is always there, its the lack of quality we are struggling with.  A very defensive side with no attacking threat

Cameron King MOM for us, followed by Browny. Never going to be pretty as stated earlier 7 out of the 10 starting outfield players are technically defenders.

Have to agree looking at Flea Vision the goal was correctly ruled out for offside.

Shot shy Shaymen. I don't want to be too hard on the team, because today was a good effort, but we must take a shot at goal when opportunity arises.Several times today we were within shooting distance but chose to pass instead. If we can get a couple of goals confidence should return and that win will come.

When I told a Huddersfield fan that we took 500 today he said **** off..

He didn't even know who Huddersfield were playing today.

Nuff said.

If the team out 100% effort in then you can't ask for much more. They've ensured Town are in the hat for the draw and you never know, we might score a goal against them with Lossy back. We need to back this up with a win in the next game now. Well done Shaymen.

UTS.

Agreed. A number of occasions where a quick and decisive shot or pass was needed. Sellers found himself with room to run at people a number of times but seemed reluctant to do so. A few tried to do too much in the final third.
They were definitely better than recent performances but frustratingly not quite there. Johnson kicking the ball out for a throw was frustrating as was the lack of movement at set pieces. Lost count of the times Hanson would look desperately for someone to make space for him.

Southwell put in a real shift for not a lot of return. I'm still trying to work out what King must have done to merit warming the bench for so long as the lad clearly has some ability.

Genuinely think they can win the replay. An improvement.

Southwell was on an hiding to nothing up against two giant CBs and with Oddy and Sellers too far away from him . Frustrating to see Southwell taking the free kicks when he should be poaching for the second ball in and around the box . Sellers wasted too many passes in the first half but was much improved in the second half . Thought Odelusi had a reasonable game but was still lacking a bit of something . Maher was my MotM, thought he got around the pitch with purpose . Johnson kept us in the game but really does need to work on his distribution and Brown was very impressive at the back as was Clark when he was on the pitch . An overall good game between two teams that were clearly a bit short of confidence in their own 'ability'

Really pleased we got a replay, much more than I expected. Edward (on watching BBC coverage) was off side. Needs a lot of work in training to improve his positional sense.

Onwards to dover with a similar set up & we might just turn the corner.

just thinking , the replay could be a televised game if the beeb and bt sport are weighing up a possible giant killing , and therefor the game might not be played on a Tuesday night

will have to see how todays matches pan out

Not a chance our game will be televised. Aldershot v Bradford and Tranmere v Oxford City are both better choices than our game.
