  1. 21st Feb 2019 - 1 year under JF

I wonder what the next thread will be like in 12 months time and after 2 years in charge? Might be an idea to start knitting classes in the East and South stands in readyment.  Note: If you are bouncing out of the ground after the final whistle,  please be careful not to fall over a pyramid of emotion  Yours in Sport Darth, Green Team Leader Lord of the Syrh.

    Is Nick Walker bald?
  3. How many going to Maidstone?

Are you at the game on Saturday? Let me know the next home game that you attend and I'll go. It might sound like superstitious codswallop but it still makes more sense than a JF interview.

Lots of things to add to that though. Standard of opposition and budget being just two.

We've won one more game then we've lost.  He did seem to be almost laughing in the video. It's a roundabout way of saying the players and management will be trying to win games. Why not say that? It saves time and it gets your message accross. Also, why not try doing it too instead of going out not to lose.

If you call playing with 4 centre halves for most of the season, getting it right, then yes we have. Most teams in this league would have a good defensive record if they played 4 centre halves. Well done to Browny and Clarkey but we've had two men sat in front protecting them for most of the season. It is possible to have cover at the back but still play in a more attacking style. Let's hope JF tries it next season because I'm pretty sure he's still going to be in charge of our club next year.
  7. Keep the faith or ditch the disaster?

Lots to consider here. I went for sack but I'm not averse to letting him have a few more games.  I've read some of the comments above and I'm a tad confused. Yes, we have one of the best defenses in the league. We should have because we've played with 4 centre halves nearly all season. Take Maher and Staunton out and replace them with a couple of central midfielders and we'd concede more goals. But on the upside we'd probably score more and that's what football is about scoring goals to win matches.  The fans were promised entertaining football this season. They were asked to fork out for a season ticket and those that pay in the day, pay £20. However, the club were going full time so with the increase in price came better training etc. Apart from the decent little run of results in August, which has saved JF's bacon, we spluttered along through the season creating a bit every now and then but hardly scoring. Pretty drab to watch too. If we stay up then is it going to be more of the same next season? If it is and the fans ask if it's going to be, will they get a straight answer? I doubt it. That's why I think he needs to go at some point this season. I do however think that this season has been a reality check for many fans s because the financial side of football at our level is scary. Dagenham paying £3000 a week for a player is unsustainable, we just can't compete with that. So, it's a case of target the smaller budget clubs and try a different finish above them. You can aim as high as you want but at the end of the day you also need to be realistic.
  8. Brown and Clarke

I'm not taking anything away from them but it does help when you've got another two centre halves playing in front of you for most of the season. It kind of helps a lot.
  9. Brown and Clarke

Now that Hanson has been dropped until further notice I think Matty Brown will win player of the season. Unless he has a howler for the rest of the season.
  10. Casey Dennis Murthick

I hope you make a full recovery and best wishes to you.
  11. The best Team for Maidstone

You've hit the nail on the head.
  12. The game tonight: Maidstone

Nice little earner, £20 a time, minus an extra doctor. Enough to pay off JF ready for next season.
  13. Lack of challenging media

It's still not as good as the angry letters page in the Courier.  I'm not sure but I think that's how world peace was achieved, after a letter went into the Courier demanding it.
  14. The game tonight: Maidstone

I set a target of 7 points before the Aldershot game, from these 3 games. Deposited the Aldershot game being an abysmal draw when we should have e won, we still have 4 from 6. If we beat Havant then we've achieved our target. With regards to JF carrying on next season, I would say I'm probably 90/10 against still. He's got a turnover of games to convince the fans that he can turn things round. Never mind  the board it's th fans he has to convince because they are the ones who pay in  Anyway, we've won and it's another away win. Let's hope for more points on Saturday. Although, Havant conceded a shed full so they'll probably park the bus and we've gone goal crazy so it'll probably be 0-0. UTS
  15. The game tonight: Maidstone

Almost a win every ten games. We are starting to go a bit too Hollywood for my liking. Ruddy show offs.
